How many people know where South Africa is??

This may seem like rather silly question to ask - surely everyone knows where South Africa is!!!  Well….. maybe now, yes, after the FIFA World Cup was hosted by South Africa, but how many people had only heard about it before that.

I have a very wide circle of global online friends and contacts and I was often surprised by one of them with a question such as….
“I have a friend who lives in Nigeria whom you may know”…OR

“I am supporting a charity in the Sudan and I intend visiting there soon to see what the country looks like. Maybe we can also meet  one day while I am there”…..

When people read “South Africa”, they only saw “Africa” not realizing that Africa is a large continent made up of different countries, not unlike Europe. I am quite sure that a good many people have a much better understanding of where South Africa is situated now. All because a very successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup. We received glowing reports and many, many compliments on the great and professional way that we handled this great event.
